English summary: Schopenhauer's handwritten annotated personal copy of Schellings's Philosophical Inquiries into the Essence of Human Freedom is now completely accessible to researchers for the first time. It shows Schopenhauer as a critical reader who received the definitive suggestions for what as a whole was probably the most powerful metaphysics of the will in the 19th century from a year-long study of Schelling's philosophy of nature and freedom. Apart from a detailed introduction and commentary, this volume contains a bibliography on Schopenhauer's reception of Schelling's philosophy. L' "idéalisme allemand" ne désigne pas la philosophie allemande post-kantienne en tant qu'elle culminerait dans le système hégélien, mais renvoie à différents systèmes - les plus connus d'entre eux étant ceux de Fichte, Schelling et Hegel - qui ne sont pas dans un rapport hiérarchique. Alors que les recherches hégéliennes ont déjà pour une large part contribué à dévoiler la teneur systématique et les sources historiques de la pensée de l'auteur de l'Encyclopédie des sciences philosophiques, les recherches fichtéennes et schellingiennes n'ont pu prendre leur essor que plus tardivement - aussi et surtout pour des raisons éditoriales. Les difficultés d'accès aux sources étant désormais écartées, il est temps d'étudier les textes clés de Fichte et de Schelling pour eux-mêmes et non pas comme moments subordonnés du système hégélien. L'objectif de cet ouvrage est de présenter les idéalismes transcendantaux de Fichte et de Schelling. Alors que la doctrine de la science de Fichte est de part en part un idéalisme transcendantal, dont l'auteur cherche à mettre en évidence l'unité et la cohérence, l'idéalisme transcendantal de Schelling ne constitue qu'une étape dans l'évolution de sa pensée - une étape certes majeure, aboutissant à son " premier système " de 1800, mais qui est méconnue voire inconnue. Dans quelle mesure les idéalismes transcendantaux de Fichte et de Schelling s'inscrivent-ils dans la tradition de l'idéalisme transcendantal initiée par Kant ? Quels sont les principes fondamentaux de l'idéalisme fichtéen ? Quelle est la figure particulière de l'idéalisme schellingien ? Comment ces deux idéalismes se rapportent-ils l'un à l'autre ? Y a-t-il des influences réciproques ? Leurs idéalismes se distinguent-ils fondamentalement ou parviennent-ils finalement à un accord de principe? Die vorgelegte Summe des Hochidealismus ersetzt – der neuen Forschungs- und Quellenlage entsprechend – die alte Konstruktion vom Dreischritt, der von Fichtes Jenaer Wissenschaftslehre ausgeht, in die Naturphilosophie Schellings übergeht und in Hegels System vollendet aufgeht, durch die Gegenthese: Der Deutsche Idealismus ist die Begründung der Vernunftwissenschaft im Widerstreit von drei Vollendungsansprüchen, erhoben im Identitätssystem und der positiven Philosophie Schellings, in Hegels Onto-Theo-Logik und der ungeschriebenen Lehre Fichtes, d. i. den mündlichen Vortragszyklen nach 1800. Die eingehende Ausarbeitung dieses dreiseitigen Widerstreites hebt einen Vorrang heraus. Fichtes ungeschriebene Lehre ist die einzige der drei Vollendungsgestalten, die im Begreifen des Wahrheits- und Systemgrundes, des Absoluten, transzendentale Besinnung in absoluter Reflexion bewahrt und daher auch vorzüglich in der Lage ist, unser Zeitalter der Nichtbesinnung herauszufordern.
